When should I schedule a pregnancy consultation?

Ideally, you should schedule a preconception counseling appointment at Elite Women’s Care Center when you’re ready to become pregnant. The providers offer comprehensive assessments to ensure your body is healthy and can support a pregnancy.

If you think you may be pregnant or have a positive home pregnancy test, you should book an appointment immediately to ensure you receive the prenatal care you need.

What can I expect during my initial pregnancy consultation?

If you’re visiting Elite Women’s Care Center for a preconception evaluation, the providers review your personal and family medical histories and complete a physical exam. They assess any existing issues that may complicate pregnancy and also recommend strategies you can use to prepare your body for conception.

If you’re already pregnant, your first visit also includes reviewing your health history and a physical exam. The providers may also complete a pelvic exam, blood work, and ultrasound imaging to ensure your pregnancy is healthy and your baby is developing properly.

Your physician can recommend exercises that are safe during pregnancy. They can also prescribe prenatal vitamins and suggest diet improvements you can make to support you and your baby’s health.

Your first visit is also a great time to ask any questions you have about your pregnancy and plans for labor and delivery. The physicians help you schedule regular prenatal visits, so they can continue to monitor your health and your baby’s development. Visits are usually monthly until you get closer to your due date. High-risk pregnancies may require more frequent visits.
